Common Initiative an experimental design collective founded in 2015, by Thomas Marriott, Rike Glaser, Adi Zaffran, and Namuun Zimmermann, after studying together on Platform 13 at the Royal College of Art.

CI use design as a form of 'activated journalism', unpicking and presenting new ways of understanding a range of contemporary phenomena, rejecting some of the established notions of design and designer. The collective acts as a structure for collaboration, the sharing of research and proposing alternative forms of design outcome.

CI has worked on a number of workshops, events, exhibitions most notably: 4017 Enacted for Collecting Europe at the V&A.
